No rain as predicted.  Pack gear but leave tent up as it is not easy to see.
As I head to Gothenburg to collect the package I see email from Postnord telling me the package is there and wishing me "good luck".

It is a gay day in Gothenburg as the rainbow flags are flying everywhere.  I have the part and take the hour and half train ride back to Amal.  I see the replacement battery pack is to be delivered in Oslo tomorrow.  They sent it UPS to a Norwegian post office what could go wrong.  I need to move camp to get to Oslo by Friday.  A mile from my camp the rain starts and is soaking.  It is not worth moving camp so late in the day in a rain storm.  So tomorrow I need an early start.

A rainy morning and I ride north into lake county that are connected by locks.  The first town has no ICA market and no open internet.  It does have crossing canal and lock, train tracks, road and falls at different levels.  The falls does run daily from 11:15 to 11:20.  I missed it's running. The next town ICA market but no internet.  There locks were not as dramatic.  A few more hills and this larger town does has ICA market and internet.   Package has move from Stockholm and is out for delivery.  Issue is it is 2:30 and the train tracks I have been seeing show lots of rust on top and the grass is tall.  Norway is 20 miles away and the other way 20 miles is a town with a train.  I head for the train and climb more hills.  The indirect route adds more miles but keeps the cars from zooming by.

Damp morning with a noon start.  The forest quickly turn to farm land.  The smell of fresh fertilizer is in the air.  Pelted by bugs.  

Monday and the package is still in Stockholm.  Postnord emails me about the package telling me to contact the sender.  Postnord has my package but I need to contact the shipper to get Postnord to deliver it to me.   I write Postnord again noting that they have the package and just need to send it to Gothenburg.  Going to Norway appears to be a good plan as Postnord does not want deliver my package.

Rest day.  I do not need a rest day, but I take one as I slowly zigzag north hoping that someday the package will leave Stockholm.  I sit on my boulder and survey the little forest I can see from here.  Rain comes in and I write.

More cars with fins are out cruising with 50’s music playing.  I ride forest roads with lakes along the way. I camp upon a large boulder in the forest.

Fish Stairs

With the warm weather the bugs have hatched.  I remember to breathe with the teeth closed.  Package is developing a syndrome in Stockholm. Postnord emails me back to call them.  With no phone I write them again asking that they move the package on.  As Friday evening comes classic cars with fins are out and about playing old rock tunes.

Ascension Day here in Sweden so nothing will happen with the mail.  I wind my way north.  Camp on a hill covered with trees.

Late start 12:30. As I head back through Kungalv I pass the castle guarding the river and feel no desire to explore it.  So I ride on.  Check for the package and it is still in Stockholm.  Forest and homes are along the road.  Then there is a major building project closing the road.  Turn around and find an alternative route a mile back.  Hills are now and in my future so I climb.  Holiday tomorrow so I stock up on food.  Then take a bit of a ride to find a nice camp.  Camp early and take a shower.  Need to let the solar shower warm more than five minutes.  Clean again for mosquitoes.

I check for email and the package is still in Stockholm.  I write the Swedish postal service to see what is happening with the package.  The auto response states they will reply in 24 hours.  I do not believe them.  It is time to leave Gothenburg.  I ride north on a bike route taking me though towns and farm country.  The route does give me a ferry ride.  As evening approaches I head up a hill into the forest.  There is a nice view over a lake.

Back to Gothenburg and check the internet.  I check for the package at the main office I have been directed to and it appears that it has not moved from Stockholm.  I am not a city person.  I am back in the bibliotek.  Night is spent in the original camp outside Gothenburg.
