We continue the long ride down. Gravel and sand keep the speed down. At the canyon bottom there is further riding down canyon. We push on to the fork in canyon and decide to try to catch a ride up canyon. All we need now is a vehicle to drive us up canyon. We sit in the ghost town of Canon wait for some vehicle to appear on the road. In less than a hour a van shows up with room for the bikes. A long drive up canyon gets us up 7000 ft and the cool air.

Day spent climbing to the pass. My legs feel rubbery and I lack any energy to climb in the afternoon. It was a struggle but we make the pass and camp on a ridge just short of 15000ft.
